National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) delivers world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders.

Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA)

GameSim has established a CRADA with NGA. The CRADA is effective from 06/03/2014 to 06/03/2017. Christopher C. Clasen is the NGA point of contact for this research. The cooperative research focuses, primarily, on two topic areas:

Near Real-Time Data Fusion and Visualization

Research will be performed to further Conform’s process of fusing together a single 3D environment by supporting additional data formats and databases (e.g., LiDAR, FMV, and GIS databases), to create a more accurate and rich 3D environment, while still maintaining near real time performance.

The integrated scene can be viewed in the Conform 3D viewer or exported into other run-time formats. GameSim is interested in furthering its process of fusing together a single 3D environment by supporting additional data formats and databases (e.g., LiDAR, FMV, and GIS databases), to create a more accurate and rich 3D environment, while still maintaining our near real-time performance. In addition to the value of producing a single environmental representation from cross themed data to be viewed and exported, the system also facilitates the ability to analyze consistency across those products.

Low Bandwidth, Browser-based Visualization

This solution will reuse Conform’s existing data fusion capabilities to create a geometry server that can scale the resolution of the scene based on each client’s bandwidth and processing capabilities. A robust HTML5/JavaScript/WebGL client will be created that works on both mobile and desktop browsers interchangeably.

GameSim has an active CRADA with NGA, “Rapid Geospatial Data Fusion, Visualization and Delivery.” There are two primary tasks being researched.
